Running for Adam... as a team of superheroes!

Story

Adam was a dear friend to many – one of life’s funniest, most enthusiastic, kindest people. He suffered from cystic fibrosis but never let it inhibit his passion for life, achieving his ambitions or positive mindset: a real life superhero. ‘Running for Adam’ will see over 15 of his friends clocking up 100km+ between us at the Olympic Velopark dressed, of course, as superheroes - in matching capes & masks. We will attempt to run/walk as fast as we can – a challenge given the heat & costumes!

We did it!

6th August 2018
What an amazing day it was Running for Adam last weekend! We have made a little video of the event which you can view here: https://youtu.be/TN6DkSQAa20 In the end we were 11 superheroes (+ one baby!), and we ran 90km between us dressed in matching capes and masks. It was hot, it was windy, it was hilly, the cape totally got in the way.... but we did it! We have raised over £1,700 so far from this event, and the overall Active for Adam community has raised over £18,000 across all the various events that are happening. On the day of the run, we had lots of time to think and talk about the legend that was Adam, reminisce about loads of fond memories and recall lots of funny stories... before and during the run, and afterwards at the pub celebration. Testament to the impact of this event we even had some complete strangers give us some cash donations as we stood around in our capes and masks! We wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all our generous family & friends who sponsored us. We really appreciate every donation made and have been overwhelmed by all of your kindness :-) Lots of love, the Active for Adam superheroes xxx
